We all wear masks.

You go on a date, do your little tap dance, then go home and remove your shoes to reveal large, hairy toes with overgrown toenails. You're "on" at work, polished on social media, composed in that investor meeting.

We perform our way through so much of life.

There's nothing wrong with this exactly. Masks serve a purpose. But something shifts when you find relationships—romantic, friendship, community—that don't just tolerate the unmasked you, but actively invite you to take your mask off.

After only four dates, Jon told me that he had to go to Austin, Texas for an undetermined amount of time. Would I consider joining him, he asked. It was an outrageous request, but I was obsessed with him so obviously I went. Not even one month into seeing each other and here we were, in a foreign city, sharing a bedroom in a stranger's house.

If that doesn't make or break a relationship, I don't know what does.

There was no dating tap dance. No going home to decompress and curate yourself before the next encounter. We had to confront who we actually were very early on, mask off, hairy toes and all.

The fact that we had to get to know each other's real selves has been foundational to our relationship. It's meant that we've had the hard conversations early, aligned on values when it mattered, and seen each other through real moments.

But here's what I've learned: the deepest partnerships don't just allow you to unmask. They help you discover and become more of who you truly are.

In the past couple of months, Jon and I have been practicing being in front of the camera. We're both entrepreneurs, and part of that today is being video savvy. Jon filmed me over and over again during our Italy trip while I was working on my pitch for Octant. He'd listen to take after take, and then suddenly stop me: "That's Maggie." He recognizes me when I can't recognize myself. He unlocks who Maggie is. Not the performing version, but the real one. The one who is living her highest self.

I once had lunch with a woman who was getting divorced. Her husband had asked her, "When are you going to quit this crypto thing?" He didn't support that her life ambition was to be an absolute baddie.

This isn't just about romantic partnership.

This is about friendships that call forth more of who you are.

Communities that don't demand performance but invite integration.

Work environments where you can show up as one whole person instead of code-switching between selves.

Your support systems, whether that be your romantic partner, your friends, your classmates, your community need to support your ambition, help you unmask, and guide you towards the most exulted version of who you're becoming.

At SheFi, we've been building this kind of community.

• Coinbase just went shopping. The exchange bought Up Only and Echo, doubling down on creator-led crypto media and social vibes.

• AWS went down, so did decentralization. An Amazon outage knocked out Coinbase, Infura, and parts of Ethereum — proving much of “DeFi” still runs on Web2.

• Markets are moody. Bitcoin hovered around $110K, ETH near $4K, with brief rallies led by XRP, LINK, and ZEC before cooling off.

• Ripple’s still… rippling. The company keeps expanding into traditional finance, even as XRP’s actual use case remains fuzzy.
