The very first SheFi Summit in Paris in 2023, I was nervous. Really nervous.

I had never put together a speaker lineup, booked a venue, designed an entire event experience. Once everything was set up – the video, the chairs, the merch – I hid backstage.

I couldn't handle waiting to see the attendees come in. I couldn't face the possibility that I had poured so much love into something and that no one would show up to share it with me.

So, I waited in a dark corner, heart racing, counting the minutes before it was time to go out on stage.

My dad came to find me and wish me good luck. "Did anyone show up?" I whispered.

My dad smiled. "They sure did, love."

As I walked out into the light, I saw hundreds of faces smiling back at me.

My fear dissolved. I melted into the present moment with everyone who showed up. Everyone who said "hell yes" to a future where all women have financial freedom.

Here's a confession: while I no longer hide backstage before a summit, I'm always nervous before the big day.

People think a great conference is about landing a famous keynote speaker, booking a luxury venue, or having an impressive lineup.

But really it's all about the audience.

A captive, dedicated, engaged audience is what makes or breaks an event. You can have the best speakers in the world, but if the people in the room are just there to collect swag and hunt for their next conversation, nothing magical happens.

Even men have told me they love SheFi Summit because people actually look them in the eyes instead of looking for the next, "better" person to talk to.

That's no accident.

When I attended my first crypto conference, I was put off by the transactional energy. People were scanning the room for someone more important to talk to. Conversations felt like pitches. Interactions left me feeling drained rather than energized.

Not only did I want to bring women to crypto, I wanted to bring a different energy to crypto. An energy that emphasizes the community, not the keynote. An energy that values collaboration over competition. And, an energy where everyone feels they belong.

Maybe you think big crowds aren't for you. Maybe you’re worried about having to perform a version of yourself you don't recognize.

I promise you, you won’t.

When I get overwhelmed about the million and one things I need to do before the summit, I remember this: people describe their experience of SheFi Summit as the feeling you have when you walk into a home where all your friends are.

At the opening remarks, you'll hear me ask that we all show up for each other. Showing up means giving your full attention to the moment, whether that's a talk, a conversation, or a moment of self-reflection.

Showing up is the greatest act of love. It’s how we care for our partners, our families, our friends, and our communities.

Are you ready to say ‘hell yes’ to showing up for yourself, for your community, and for a world where all women have financial freedom?
