Say No With Your Whole Body.
Generosity only works when it’s chosen freely.

Last night, we tried to get the snot out of Summer's nose, but she has a new trick. The second she sees the little suction tool come near her face, she purses her lips hard, drops her chin, and locks her nostrils shut.
She does the same thing with food she doesn't want or with anything that crosses her. She is a baby, who just started walking on Saturday. She thinks my AirPods case is the most fascinating object in our apartment. And yet she already knows how to say “Absolutely not,” with her whole body, without a single word.
Nobody taught her that. We didn't sit her down and explain the duck face while shaking your head side to side, and we didn’t model it. She just intuited how to do a full-body no, before anyone has a chance to talk her out of it. It's innate.
I keep watching her do it and I’m not sure if I’m impressed, or jealous, or just stunned that a person who can't say a full sentence yet has a way of expressing a clearer no than I had for most of my adult life.
I spent so much of my life doing the opposite. Knowing I didn't want to do something and saying yes anyway with something like, "Totally, no worries."
There were worries. There were so many worries. I would overdeliver because I wanted to be kind and easy, to make the other person feel taken care of. And then I would feel angry.
I thought maybe my anger meant the other person had asked for too much. More often, it meant I had made myself available for too much. When you are the one who blurs the line, you are the one who has to deal with it.
I have learned this over and over again while building SheFi, especially with sponsors, partners, and events. There have been moments when someone got used to a level of access or support that was never part of the (oftentimes, signed) agreement.
The problem was rarely boundaries. The problem was that the boundary came too late. It was held up after the person had already built an expectation of getting everything they asked for, my team was already stretched, and I had already begun tasting a little bitterness.
Unbounded generosity is free labor. And women are very, very good at making free labor sound wonderful. We call it support, we call it community, we call it being flexible. Sometimes it is all of those things. But sometimes it is self-abandonment.
The boundary is what makes us able to be generous. That’s what generosity is—delivering more than someone expected. So now when I scope out my work, everyone relaxes. The partner knows what they are going to get from us. The team knows what they are responsible for. I know when yes actually means yes.
And then I can choose to give more than that.
I can send the extra idea, make the thoughtful introduction, add the bonus, surprise someone with something they didn't expect, and it feels good because I chose it freely. That is a very different energy from doing more because I am afraid to disappoint someone.
Giving more than what’s expected is generous. Giving more than more is a recipe for resentment.
I used to think boundaries made me less loving. I was wrong. Boundaries let me stay loving. They keep me from turning into the version of myself who says yes with my mouth and no with the rest of me.
Summer already knows. She sees the thing coming toward her face, and her whole body says, no thank you.
Set the boundary. It is kind.

Inside the Inner Circle: Rewriting Our Stories ✨
This month we kicked off a new monthly ritual in the Inner Circle: intention-setting sessions, starting with The Stories We Repeat — affirmations, journaling, and re-writing the narratives that run underneath our ambitions.
Building the career you want starts with the story you tell yourself. Before the new industry, before the launch, before the bigger ask, there's a narrative running quietly in the background. I'm behind. I'm not ready. Who am I to do this? You can't out-strategize a story you haven't rewritten.
So that's where we went. Members named the old narratives they've been carrying, wrote the new ones they're choosing instead, shared in small peer groups and left with a 30-day practice to make it stick.
Every month from here, we'll gather to do this work together — new theme, same practice: choosing the story on purpose. The Inner Circle is for ambitious women who know the inner game builds the outer one.
If that sounds like you, join us: https://pctxqsdzgk0.typeform.com/to/zlmsbG3K

AI Tip of the Week 💡
I spent 5 minutes last week doing something I'd been avoiding for months.
I had 210 screenshots sitting on my Desktop. All named "Screenshot 2026-04-01 at 1.33.21 PM.png." Useless. I could never find anything and I kept screenshot-ing the same things because I'd forget I already had them.
I typed one prompt into Claude Cowork. It scanned every file, looked at what each one actually showed, gave each one a real name, and proposed a folder structure. LinkedIn posts. Analytics. Event photos. Zoom calls. Archive.
Then it asked for my approval before touching anything.
Five minutes later, 210 files were organized. Desktop clear.
HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF
You need: a Mac + Claude Cowork (free to download at claude.ai)
Open Cowork and select your Desktop folder when it asks
Paste this prompt:
Help me organize recent screenshots on my Desktop. First, scan and count everything — show me the total and date range. Then focus on the last 14 days: identify what each screenshot shows, suggest a descriptive filename, and propose a folder. Group similar ones together and show me the plan before making any changes. Start with just 10 files as a preview, then check in before continuing.
Review the plan it gives you — tweak anything you want
Say yes, and watch it go

Crypto + AI Roundup — SheFi Edition 🏇
Crypto Roundup.
Humanity Protocol, a digital identity project that scans your palm to prove you're a real human (think Worldcoin minus the eyeball orb), got drained of $36 million this week. The cause wasn't clever code. A compromised employee laptop handed attackers the keys to the project's bridge, and they minted 200 million brand-new tokens and dumped those too. The token fell almost 90% in hours. The part worth watching: ZachXBT, the most respected investigator in crypto, called it "possibly staged." The token was near an all-time high a week ago and a big batch of supply was set to unlock June 25. A project built to verify you're human couldn't verify its own people.
Morpho, the lending protocol behind a lot of the "earn yield" buttons showing up inside crypto apps, raised $175 million this week at a valuation up to $2 billion. One of the largest DeFi raises ever, co-led by Paradigm, a16z crypto, and Ribbit. It already holds over $11 billion in deposits, and Coinbase and Société Générale build on it. (It's also the engine behind last week's Trezor yield feature.) Paradigm's pitch: every bank and pension fund will eventually want onchain credit, and the plumbing for it is getting funded now.
The House held a hearing today on seven separate crypto tax bills. Splitting them up is strategic: a lawmaker can back de minimis relief, so buying coffee with Bitcoin doesn't trigger a tax event over 37 cents of gains, without voting for everything else. Staking and mining rewards wouldn't be taxed until you sell. But it's a work in progress. Committee Democrats raised real concerns about mining companies gaming the rules, and with the session ending this year, the window to pass any of it is narrow.
AI Roundup.
Anthropic released its most powerful public model yet this week: Claude Fable 5. It's the first public release from its top "Mythos" tier, the same family that made headlines in April for finding security holes in nearly every major operating system. So it ships with hard guardrails. Ask it anything in cybersecurity, biology, or chemistry and it quietly hands you to a weaker model. The timing is loud: Anthropic shipped its most capable public model days after warning that AI is advancing fast enough to start improving itself, and right as it heads toward an IPO.
For the first time ever, bots and AI agents generate more web traffic than humans. Cloudflare clocked it at roughly 57% machines to 43% people, and its CEO said it happened a full year sooner than he expected. People are calling it proof of the "dead internet theory," the web slowly becoming machines talking to machines. The problem underneath it: bots don't click ads, and the entire free internet runs on ad clicks. The thing built for humans is now mostly used by software.
Apple finally admitted it lost the AI race. At its developer conference Monday it announced the new Siri will run on Google's Gemini, not Apple's own model, reportedly for around $1 billion a year. Apple keeps what it's good at (privacy, the interface) and rents the actual intelligence from Google for the hard questions. For the most valuable company in the world to rent its brain from a competitor tells you how steep the cost of staying at the frontier has gotten. It reaches the better part of Apple's two-billion-plus active devices.
