My Purpose Is To Be Light.

On ordination, inner wisdom, and doom scrolling.

💫 Apply for Cohort 16 💫

I've been on an information diet.

Partly self-inflicted, partly because when I'm with Summer, I want to give her my full attention—and doom scrolling while she's playing doesn't match the mother I'm trying to be. So I'm trying, imperfectly, to stop.

And honestly, it's been good for me.

I forgot how much inner wisdom shows up when you stop outsourcing your mind to other people's opinions.

Instead of social media, I've been revisiting the book that got me over feeling sad about men: The Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss. Myss finds similarities between Catholicism, Judaism, Buddhism, and Hinduism to understand different aspects of bringing more awareness into how we live.

The one section I return to often is about ordination. She uses the term to describe the idea of having a true calling—not necessarily a profession, but an awareness of what you, specifically you, were put on this earth to do.

A few years ago, I had a divine download: my purpose in this world is to be light.

At the time, I was living with someone who was going through a depression. I didn't have the power to fix it. But I did have the power to decide who I was going to be in the room.

It helped me understand that we're all moving through life with different challenges, different wirings, and different gifts.

Light comes easily to me.

I can access positivity and bring other people up. For others, maybe it's honesty, creativity, or justice. There are plenty of qualities I've had to cultivate that come more naturally to others.

My ordination doesn't mean I'm always kind. It means I can access it quickly, especially when it would be easier to be sharp, dismissive, or cold.

I think about this constantly online.

Because social media isn't neutral. It rewards heat. It loves outrage. It trains you to perform certainty, even when you're confused. It dares you to turn a stranger into an enemy because it makes better content.

And I've felt that pull, too.

There are days I'll start typing a comment and I can literally feel my chest tighten like my body knows I'm about to trade my peace for a hit of righteousness.

So now I ask myself a simple question before I post:

Am I adding light, or am I adding noise?

Light doesn't mean naive. It doesn't mean agreeable. It just means I'm not contributing to the darkness for entertainment.

But don't confuse ordination with profession.

Ordination is what you were put on this earth to do and it will shine through no matter what work you're in. I'm grateful my work lets me bring light to so many people. But if I wasn't doing this, it would still be my job to bring it at the grocery store, in my friendships, and in my marriage.

Social media has plenty of useful voices giving good advice. But sometimes making mental space is the best way to receive guidance.

If you've been on a social media kick lately, here's a little nudge: choose journaling over scrolling this week and see what emerges.

Not forever. Just a week.

And if this made you think of someone, someone who’s been a little overwhelmed, a little numb, a little too online, send it to her.

Not as advice. As a small light.

Crypto + AI Roundup — SheFi Edition 🏇

  • Moltbook shows what “agent economies” could look like. A bots-only social network went viral, then got stress-tested by a major security flaw and public skepticism from Sam Altman. The point isn’t Moltbook. It’s that AI agents are starting to behave like participants in networks, not just tools.

  • Google Genie makes interactive worlds on demand. Genie generates explorable virtual worlds from prompts and images. That matters for crypto because programmable worlds plus onchain identity and assets is the blueprint for machine-native economies.

  • Vitalik questions the future of today’s L2 model. Vitalik suggested Ethereum’s rollup-centric roadmap needs a rethink as L1 capacity grows and L2 decentralization lags. Scaling is becoming a coordination and UX problem, not just a throughput one.

  • MetaMask brings tokenized real-world markets into the wallet. MetaMask added tokenized U.S. stocks, ETFs, and commodities via Ondo. Pair this with AI agents and wallets start to look like the interface to real markets, not just crypto tokens.

SheFi takeaway

AI is becoming an actor. Crypto is becoming the coordination layer. The real story is where they meet: agents, wallets, and tokenized markets.
